9th August 2007

I am delighted to announce that Arts Council England have recently contracted me to develop a series of new graphic identities and marketing materials for the new intiaitive Young People's Participatory Theatre project (YPPT) and it's several strands. The YPPT is a national intiative involving a youth council of over 60 members with young people at it's heart. The muti-faceted campiagn that aims to forge new practice and theories. It features several strands encouraing particapation, debating national strategy and nurturing new talent; both creative and otherwise. For the branding project I shall be working with Harmeet Sembhi of Aich Graphic Design agency to deliver the appropriate design for the identity for the YPPT.

Watch here for updates on the project as we develop it.

BBC Wedding Stories

30th May 2007

In Spring on BBC 3 Gay Gothic couple Lisa and Val from Pontefract tied the knot in front of millions of viewers. I was there on the day to capture some colourful and intriguing photographs. Apologies to those of you who faithfully sat through three episodes to find that I had been cut out of the film completely - the words 'Cutting Room floor come to mind! See more on the new website or come along to one of the exhibitions this year.

NACRO commissions Bike Shed images for new offices

30th May 2007

NACRO is an agency helping build skills amongst disaffected and vulnerable groups. They approached me to produce a series of photographs for their new offices based upon a project involving young people learning about bike maintenance. As part of the process, I designed and led a workshop with a vulnerable group to draw out their ideas for the images and worked alongside them to produce the photography in the workshop. The final images were shown at an awards ceremony in April and now hang in the new offices and young people's workshop.

Huddersfield’s Beast Market Photographic Trail

30th May 2007

'Beast Market' is an area in the centre of Huddersfield that used to be the cattle market. It is also the title for an exciting and ambitious community theatre project from the pioneering Chol Theatre in partnership with Huddersfield Literature Festival. 'Beast Market' tells the diverse stories of those who live in Huddersfield in their own words. Chol interviewed those who live, work and play there about what it's like to live in this Pennine town. Beast Market premiered as part of the Huddersfield Literature Festival in the Lawrence Batley Theatre in spring 2008. I was commissioned to photographically document the project and you can see a selection of images from the extensive portfolio at The Medialounge, The Media centre in Huddersfield between the 3rd and 30th May 2008.
