FAQs

frequently asked questions

We know you do reportage but do you also do more traditional formal shots?

Yes, if you want them, the idea is that you have what you want on your wedding day and as long as we plan in the time, we can make it as formal or informal as you like.

How many shots do we eventually receive?

Because I shoot moment by moment and cover so many aspects of the day, I believe that each photograph is an important as the next and so I give you the entire story in pictures. Obviously the longer I am at a wedding the more shots I will take so the number of shots in your final collection can be between 700 and 1500.

How do we manage so many pictures?

I help you by editing them down into folders for different parts of the day, eg: preparations/ceremony etc. This way you can go to the part of the day you want o look at with ease. I also supply you with proof books which contain small thumbnail images of each photo with a reference so that you can view them without the use of a computer. I also make a best album of about 200 images.

Do you delete any before we see them?

Not many, only if eyes are closed or they are duplicates.

Who chooses the images for the book?

You do. If you give me your choice of 100 photographs then I will design your book around your selection

Is your wedding service insured?

Yes. I am covered by full public liability insurance through AAduki Photographers Insurance Company . Please feel free to ask to inspect my policy documents.

Do you provide a written contract?

Yes. Unlike many wedding photographers I feel that a written contract is vital. It lays down in writing our exact obligations, agreed prices etc and gives you peace of mind knowing you have a written document.

Do you belong to any recognised trade organisations?

Yes. I am a registered member of the SWPP / BPPA - The Society Of Wedding And Portrait Professionals and British Professional Photographers Associates. To check my membership, simply visit the SWPP website at www.swpp.co.uk. As a member, I adhere to the strict Code of Conduct and Rules of Membership.

What is the pre-wedding consultation for?

The pre-wedding meeting is an essential consultation to establish your exact requirements, plan the photography element and get to know each other. This can take place well in advance of the day, as long as you have your date booked and some ideas about what you want, we will then perefect and amend the plan if your arrangements alter and finally confirm the plan about one month prior to your wedding day.

What is the Online Viewing Service?

After the photographs have been taken, we upload the best of them to an online password protected album. Once the Bride and Groom have viewed the photographs, we then open the album for all the guests to view. This is ideal for those who have travelled a long distance to attend the wedding or for those who couldn't make it at all. The Online Viewing service also allows Guests to make their own purchases of the photographs thus saving the Bride and Groom from a hefty reprint bill.

Can I see some of your work / view the demo albums?

Yes. Simply telephone 01484 662148 and make an appointment to come to me or for me to visit you in your home. The meeting is very informal and you are under no obligation.

How far in advance do we need to book you?

I recommend that as soon as you have confirmed your wedding date, you then book all the other services needed on your day. Whilst a year, or more, in advance may seem like a long time, there are a lot of small details to pin down and it comes around very quickly!

What about deposits and balances?

We require a £250.00 deposit to secure the booking. This amount, which is non-refundable should you cancel your booking, is then deducted from your final price. Once your deposit is paid, that day is allocated to you. I do not cover more than one wedding per day. It is important to note though that should two couples be looking to book on the same day, then the couple who returns the completed Booking Form and deposit first will be deemed to have booked that day. The remaining balance is due approximately one month after the wedding when you have the photographs in your hand and not before.

OK, so how do I book?

The first step is to call on 01484 662148 or email amanda@amandacrowther.co.uk to ensure your date is still free.
