Amanda Crowther BA (hons)
I am a freelance documentary and portrait photographer working with a broad range of companies, agencies, charities and individuals across the region. My style is very celebratory and positive. I like to look on the bright side and see the best in people. I have a very aproachable personality and people feel comfortable around me and my cameras, allowing me to capture positive natural images.
I undertake commissions to photograph live events, workshops, conferences, rehearsals and performances, portraits, weddings and family events, all with commitment and enthusiasm. My wedding photography is one of the most passionate areas of my work, I love the romance, the emotions, the dress up and the legacy the photos become. I create brand imagery of the highest standard to help businesses and organisations improve their brand identity and sell their services or products. I also deliver inspirational workshops and community projects in partnership with arts and regeneration agencies.
As an arts marketer I design books, websites, leaflets and other promotional projects involving photography and text using my high quality images and marketing knowledge to promote businesses and projects.
I have won several awards over the years including Gold Awards from the SWPP and the International Aperture Awards. My work has been widely published in magazines and newspapers both in the UK and abroad including Arts Professional, The Independant, The Stage, Mailout, Yorkshire Magazine and The Voice.
Dewsbury Museum in Crow Nest Park currently houses a permanent exhibition called Significant Places and features over 30 portraits commissioned by Museums and Galleries in 2011. Past Exhibitions include Strippers: Addressing Undressing at Morristown College in New York, A Passion for Theatre at Sleepers Bar in Huddersfield, Beast Market at The Media Centre, Huddersfield, Theatre Work at The Lawrence Batley Theatre plus many other shared exhibitons.
